After growing up in Ohio and working many years as a draftsman and mechanical designer, Russ has retired and moved back to Estill County, Kentucky, his birth place. During that time he never stopped his art work and painting, but continued only as time permitted. Now after retirement he has time to devote to his art projects and paintings. Russ works using oil and acrylic paints on various surfaces.  He is enjoying living in the wooded ridges of Estill County where there are many beautiful and historic subjects for his paintings. He is participating in several art groups and getting to display his art.
