Janna Smith

Janna

Janna Smith began stringing beads in the fall of 2000 while living in Auburn, Alabama. The beaded jewelry craze had just begun in the South and at that time Janna and her husband Rex, a student at Auburn University, were on a very tight budget. This meant she couldn't afford to spend $35- $55 on a beaded bracelet, she decided to buy her own loose beads and teach herself. After making her first bracelet, she was hooked.

In 2001, just in time for the beaded jewelry craze in Central Kentucky, Janna's business "Sassy Silversmith" was created. In the years since she has sold her creations to gift shops, participated in many arts and crafts shows throughout Kentucky, and has taught classes and held beading parties for children.

Janna, also jokingly called "Sassy" by her repeat clients, provides custom design services for brides and the bridal party, jewelry repair, custom orders for one-of-a-kind handcrafted pieces that her customers will enjoy for years to come. She enjoys working with all types of beads including: semi-precious stones, Swarovski crystal, pearl, lampwork, sterling silver, 14 K filled and Bali silver.
