Our members are a varied and exciting group of talented people. Several members are part of the charter group that began meeting informally in 1975 and are still active with their painting and volunteering. The Winchester Art Guild has been an incorporated 501(c)3 nonprofit since 1978, with the mission of supporting the visual arts in the community. Membership is open to anyone over 16 supporting the arts and members do not need to reside in Clark County or even Kentucky. The membership roll lists supporters from other states as well as the surrounding areas.
Over the years the guild has supported a scholarship program for students from Clark County wishing to major in art at a college of their choice, one of our first recipients is now an art teacher at George Rogers Clark High School. Many of the members have volunteered in the school system and the guild has supported bringing artists in to the school system for special focus weeks as well.
